GDPR Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”)

What we need

Our GDPR Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy governs the use and storage of your data by Peep Inc. (“Peeple”, “we”, “us” or “our”). You can see our GDPR Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy at here.

Peep Inc. is a Controller of the personal data you (data subject) provide us. We collect the following types of personal data from you:

  • name;
  • telephone number;
  • email address;
  • specific or general location;
  • Facebook and/or other social media networking site account information, including name, profile picture and associated email address; and
  • any Content (as defined in the Terms and Conditions of Service) you post to the Service, including any comments, questions, recommendations, ratings, reviews, and other contributions on the Service, as well as metadata about them.

Why we need it

We need your personal data in order to provide you with access to and use of any or all of the mobile applications, related sites, content, features and services offered on or in connection with the sites offered by Peeple, which allow you to recommend and be recommended by people in your network in the following three categories: Professional, Personal and Dating (the “Service”).

What do we do with it

Your personal data is processed in the United States. Hosting and storage of your data takes place in the United States.

We may display this information through the Service, share it with third parties, and further distribute it to a wider audience through third party sites and services. This information may also be “crawled” by third party search engines so that personal data in your user profile may be accessible through search engines in search results.

How long do we keep it?

Subject to the terms of the GDPR Policy, your personal data is only retained as long as is reasonable to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or for legal or business purposes (such as backup, archival, or audit purposes, or to improve the Service) or as otherwise required under applicable law. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and subject to applicable laws and regulations, Peeple will retain all personal data generated by users with respect to user intercommunications, and all personal data which is posted by users to areas of the Service which are accessible to the public or other users, indefinitely.

Personal data which is used to make a decision that directly affects a specific user will be retained for at least one year after the date of that decision.

Your rights as a data subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:

  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
  • Right to judicial review: in the event that Peeple refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined below.

All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved in the processing of your personal data.

If you still feel that your personal data has not been handled appropriately according to the law, you can contact your National Data Protection Authority and file a complaint with them.


By consenting to this privacy notice you are giving us permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified.

Consent is required for Peeple to process both types of personal data, but it must be explicitly given. Where we are asking you for sensitive personal data we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.
